This 5 song EP represents the freshman release for the musical project, leaving richmond. It includes an eclectic array of lush, melodic guitars with elements of electronica and driving grooves. The sound encompasses downtempo, chill, ambient elements with a truly organic feel throughout.
"...Like watching the city, I get excited by the movement of the music, the passionate drive, then focus in on a melody or an acoustic guitar passage – before being swept along in the whole rushing, gleeful mass. It elevates the spirit and satisfies the mind. I love it.
I have found the soundtrack to my own movie..."

"...Only dedicated indie musicians like L.R. can dare to write and play from the heart and this EP delivers..."

"The secret traditions of Washington Avenue" is a collection of five tracks with a widescreen sound. Listening to these compositions it is virtually impossible not to think in terms of imagery; so rich are the textures created. Each track is structured like a tightly written plot inhabited by deftly drawn characters. There are themes hinted at early on that come back and are developed and extended as the pieces progress. Musical moods and atmospheres are created that become more complex with each listen. Not only do leaving richmond have a knack for writing a good tune but they create arrangements that lift the songs far above and beyond the run of the mill.

"I haven't heard much non-lyrical music ever that makes me feel nearly as much as this does. My heart strings are tugged, my mind's invested, and my soul feels sort of freed by this music."
